Subhash Ghai wins Brand Vision India 2020 Visionary of India award
Mr. Subhash Ghai was bestowed with the title of ‘Visionary of India- Legend 2014-15 in Cinematic Excellence’ at Brand Vision 2020 Summit organized by NexBrands supported by FICCII and ETNow for his contribution as a film maker and as an education evangelist in making India a global brand.
Mr. Saurav Dasgupta, Director NexBrands applauded Mr Ghai’s extra ordinary contribution to Indian cinema and as a cinema educator as Mr. Ghai is also the founder of a Global film school 'Whistling Woods International’ which is a brand in itself.
Mr. Dasgupta said, “It is indeed a great honor to present you the title of Visionary of India: The Legend 2014-15 for your extraordinary vision and efforts to build brand India. You are an epitome of inspiration for many across the globe and have always worked towards representing India on an International platform. Your efforts are in true sense a salutation to Brand India and we would like to celebrate your invaluable contributions by humbly presenting you with the title of Visionary of India: The Legend 2014-15.”
Mr. Ghai was also an esteemed panelist on 'Brand Vision India -2020' along with acclaimed author of Shiva Trilogy, Mr. Ameesh Tripathi, Mr. Tarun Katial CEO Reliance Broadcast and Mr Tapan Singhal - CEO, Bajaj Allianz Insurance. Also present were actor Shilpa Shetty and Sports Icon, Pankaj Advani.
Mr. Ghai shared his views with the audience by saying, “Let’s have a vision India 2050, why be short sighted when our dream is to make India into 'Vishva Guru' of the world and bring back our past glory. India was once known as ‘Sone ki chiriya' (golden bird). It is sad that we have accepted to borrow a name like BOLLYWOOD for our growing Indian cinema or Hindi cinema. We all are aping or borrowing the ideas / concepts from west in media and policy making both. India needs to be original first with more creative minds and thinkers than being a biggest consumer of the world because of 125 billion people.”
